M.E.CAD-CAM

Mechanical Engineering is one of the basic engineering disciplines and it is an Integral part of all Industries and other branches of Mechanical Engineering. The department is offering a full time four semester post graduate programmed M.E. CAD-CAM. In the present era of sophisticated manufacturing, the competitive designing and manufacturing tools are very much essential. They are in top demands. The Computer Aided Designing (CAD) has proved its value in the present cutting edge designing procedure. Similarly the Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) emerging as very efficient and fast tools in almost all types of industries and for all types of products manufacturing. The ability to combine CAD/CAM, with finite-element analysis and the accessibility of simulation and knowledge management has yet to be fully embraced.

CAD is an important industrial art extensively used in many applications, including automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries, industrial and architectural design, prosthetics, fluid power, energy conversion, heat transfer, manufacturing process, and many more. CAD is also widely used to produce computer animation for special effects in movies, advertising and technical manuals, often called DCC (Digital content creation).

The department has state of art infrastructure and laboratories for PG courses. The CAD Laboratory having legal licenses of analysis software's like CATIA, ANSYS, MASTER CAM, etc. for modeling, simulation and analysis. Also the department has independent library with good collection of books, national and international journals along with study material. Additionally special guidance is available for professional developments and project work.

Use of CAE packages include: mass properties analysis; interference checking; tolerance analysis; finite element analysis; kinematic and dynamic analysis; and discrete-event simulation.

The department has Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University recognized Research laboratory for carrying out Ph.D. research work and other research activities in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
